MVP & Demo

Unichain

Problem

The project addresses a systemic trust gap in Rwanda caused by manual and fragmented verification systems. Academic credentials, identities, and loan agreements are slow to verify, vulnerable to fraud, and lack enforceability—resulting in credential forgery, financial losses in SACCOs, and failed informal lending, despite the availability of national digital ID infrastructure.

MVP

Cardano Integration

Cardano serves as the foundational trust infrastructure of our solution.

Our prototype leverages Cardano to anchor verifiable credentials and agreements on-chain, ensuring data integrity, immutability, and fraud resistance. Smart contracts built with Aiken/Plutus automate loan issuance, repayment logic, and agreement enforcement, eliminating reliance on manual oversight. Each credential or contract is cryptographically bound to a user’s digital identity and wallet, enabling instant, reliable verification by institutions, employers, and lenders. Through Cardano’s secure, scalable, and low-cost blockchain architecture, the system delivers a transparent, decentralized verification and enforcement layer suitable for national-scale adoption.
